Our sustainability practices are thoughtfully integrated into every aspect of our daily operations:

Reduction of waste through responsible recycling and eco-conscious management practices
Elimination of single-use plastics across the hotel experience
Use of smart, eco-conscious technologies designed to minimize environmental footprint (eg hotel app)
Water and energy-saving initiatives throughout the property
Eco-friendly construction methods (thermal insulation facades, solar and geothermal energy for water heating and A/C operation)
Energy-saving room systems, where electricity is activated through the room key card holder to reduce unnecessary energy consumption
Balcony doors are connected to the air-conditioning system, ensuring A/C operates only when doors and windows remain closed, helping reduce energy waste
Eco-friendly gardening and landscaping practices that respect and protect the local flora and fauna
Environmentally responsible pool sanitation through a UV-light salt electrolysis system, minimizing the use of chlorine and other pool chemicals

Recycling and responsible resource management have always been part of our philosophy, as we continue working toward an even more sustainable future.

What is more to it, is how we consider Paralos Irini Mare a part of southern Crete.

Not just a hotel.

Not just words, actual actions:

Support of certified local farmers, producers, and nearby suppliers, strengthening the local community and reducing transportation impact
Own produce of fruits and vegetables from our fields in Vori, Phaistos and in the hotel – oranges, pomegranate, meddlers, lemons, extra virgin olive oil and various vegetable from the “Bostani” veggie garden in the hotel premises.
Donations to our local community (local football team, educational trips of local schools, recycling and health facilities for the community of Agia Galini etc)
Support of local artists to make annual exhibitions in the hotel premises, creating a local art hub.

Based on independent Travelife Gold Certification measurements, more than 75% of our produce comes from certified local producers, actively supporting the local community while offering our Guests an authentic Greek and Cretan culinary experience.

At Paralos Irini Mare, sustainability is not simply a practice — it is part of who we are.
